NYC/CT Recap!

A bit delayed, but this blog post has arrived!

Labor Day Weekend was full of fun as I was reunited with friends and close mentors!

On Saturday, I took off to Fairfield where my best friend, Katie, lives. It was a bit of a drive, but it was easy due to plenty of Starbucks and fun playlists on my iPod. I was on a Lana Del Ray kick that weekend, so National Anthem was blasting a lot!

Once getting to Katie's house, we changed quickly and hopped on the train to NYC. It's become sort of a yearly trip to NYC. Last year, we did a similar trip down when I went to visit her.  The train ride was a little more than an hour into Grand Central. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but don't you just love to stand in the middle of Grand Central and admire the tourists, the businessmen and women, and the ceiling? It's one of my favorite pastimes. I do it quite a lot in London Paddington as well!

We met up with our friend, Oriana, as we were staying with her for the evening.

Our evening started with delicious Mexican food before heading down to the Lower East Side/St. Mark's area for drinks!  My little from Pi Phi met up with us as well. We laughed the entire night, and it was so great to catch up!

Sunday morning, we grabbed brunch with my little as well as another sorority sister. The place was called Edison's. It certainly had a dive bar experience, but the food was great. We spent the rest of the day wandering around the city- window shopping at Kate Spade and devouring gelato from Eatly!

On Labor Day, we had hoped to take a mini-road trip out to either Mystic, Providence, or Hyannis. Yet, the weather had other plans for us. It was very dreary, so we settled on searching for a few things that we've been wanting to try.

The first stop? Get cronuts. Or at least the knock-off version of cronuts.  Personally, it tasted like fried dough. I know it wasn't the original, but still don't see the hype. I'll take my cupcake, any day.

We had lunch at the newly opened Stamford Dino BBQ location. As true SU alumnae, we could not pass up the opportunity to indulge in some delicious BBQ.

All in all, it was a great weekend catching up with Katie and seeing other friends! On the way home, I was also able to stop in and see Sue! Sue has been a great mentor to me since I was a participant in the Dulye Leadership Experience in 2011. It was great to see her and get advice on my next move!
